Eberhard J. Wirfs, International President Move to Grow

Move to Grow

New Membership Campaign Underway

Declaring that "all clubs can grow given the right encouragement and helpful advice," I have established the Year's End Celebration Ginkgo Award. The award will recognize districts in which the average club size grows by two to four members between September 1 and December 31, 2009. The award criteria vary by constitutional area.
I ask that all club officers and district governors "take up the challenge" and "make a brighter future for millions of people who need our service. Districts that reach their goals will be honored on-stage at the 2010 international convention in Sydney.
There are many strategies that can help existing clubs grow, such as:
Inviting more spouses and women through the We Need You campaign.

Organizing recruiting campaigns using Lions Clubs International's "Best Practices."

Forming club branches

Identifying clubs below 20 members in need of special assistance.
