LAHAD DATU: The Bandar Selamat Campaign Committee, headed by the district police, will be carry out a series of activities starting 20th of this month till the official launching of the campaign on the 4th of April in conjunction with the Police Day at Bandar Sri Perdana near here.Among the activities include launching of community policing by house to house visit, registering ‘1 house 1 friendship of cop’ campaign, distributing pamphlets and flyers, house and vehicles stickers, setting up of Crime Free Zone (CFZ) billboard and blood donation campaign etc.The Committee Chairman, Supt. Shamsuddin Bin Mat said the launching of this campaign is aimed to create a CFZ, thus achieve a safe town.Shamsuddin, who is also District Police Chief, said: ‘Bandar Sri Perdana housing estate will be the starting point for this campaign, one the CFZ there have fully established, we will be moving to another housing estate, expanding and widening the CFZ to entire housing estate in the district.’According to him, the respond from the politicians and the public sector, NGO’s, state and federal government agencies, particularly RELA and JPAM is very much encouraging.He hoped that programs such as the neighborhoods watch, such as Rukun Tertangga, in the district housing estate would play a more proactive role in providing information in helping the police to combat crime, particularly in house break-in cases, apart from helping the police to further foster better relationship with the public.‘We welcome the participation from the public sector to this campaign as they can provide constructive ideas toward achieving this campaign and its objective, among them include providing details of strategic locations to install close circuit television (CCTV),’ he said.Shamsudin was speaking to media after chairing the third meeting of CFZ campaign at the district police headquarter on Friday morning, also present at the meeting include district Bistari Chief cum Lion Club President, Stanley Chin, Chairman of Lahad Datu Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Mok Tian Sang, Lahad Datu Community Development Officer (CDO) Ahmad Gaut and representatives from Hap Seng Development and shops owners. House break-in cases are one of the highest cases in the district, in most cases the burglars break into the house through back door.Suggestion on intensifying patrol in housing area were made by the public, police are now looking into the possibility of forming Bicycle Police team to do patrolling, as this is one of the cost efficient and effective way to do patrolling.Sabah Commissioner of Police, Datuk Noor Rashid is expected to officiate the launching of the campaign on the 4th of April, invited guest include Silam MP Salleh Kalbi, Lahad Datu Assemblyman cum Assistance Minister to Sabah Chief Minister , Datuk Nasrun Mansor, Tungku Assemblyman, Mohd Suhaili, District Officer, Dzulkifli Nasir, state and federal agencies representatives and communities leaders.
(本报拿笃十二日讯)为配合县区安全运动的推行，以拿笃警方为首的该运动委员会经订于本月二十日下午三时开始在斯里斯里柏达纳展开一连串的活动，直至今年四月四日的警察日里正式推行此项运动。拿笃县区安全运动委员会主席善苏汀宾麦警监在今早举行的斯次会议上表示，有关活动包括沿门逐户造访登记斯里斯里柏达纳住户与联络号码、派发宣传方面的传单和手册、张挂布条、张贴标签于气车上、捐血运动等等。也是拿笃警区主任的他说：“传单和手册、气车标签都注有拿笃和东谷警方的联络号码，以方便大众在须要联络警方时可轻易找到有关号码，这分别是拿笃警区总部089-881255、881650、881498、881769，拿笃警局089-881600和东谷警局089-871318。”传单和手册上也有说明如何使用短讯SMS来向警方提供投诉、犯罪活动或建设性意见等，即写下POLISSABAH后，挂号注明所欲提供的资料,寄至DAPAT/32728。沙巴警察总监拿督诺拉昔受邀为四月四日警察日庆典和县区安全运动上主持推介礼，受邀出席贵宾包括拿笃国州议员、县官及县内各联邦和州政府代表。出席今早两小时会议者包括拿笃民防部队和自愿部队代表、民政党诗南区部主席兼文化獅子会主席的甲必丹陈一鸣、拿笃城市发展官Ahmad Gaut、拿笃中华商会会长莫天生和警区行政主任黄国勤助理警监和多名高级警官。
